Some professional definitions of EAS system
EAS system is a very critical series of retail anti-theft solutions. It mainly includes EAS AM system and EAS RF system and EAS EM system and RFID system. So how much do you know about some professional knowledge of EAS system?Let me introduce you to some related knowledge. In general, several important factors that determine the EAS system are EAS antenna detection rate and detection distance and detection sensitivity and EAS antenna anti-interference performace and service life.
EAS AM SYSTEM
Mainly used for theft prevention in retail stores, clothing stores, and supermarkets
EAS RF SYSTEM
Mainly used for anti-theft in retail stores, clothing stores, bookstores
EAS EM SYSTEM
Mainly used for library anti-theft
EAS antenna detection rate
Detection rate refers to the alarm frequency of the EAS antenna when a unit number of the security tag pass through different positions of the detection area in different directions .Since the security tag and label of the product anti-theft system have directionality, the concept of detection rate should be based on the average value of the detection rate in all directions.
In terms of the three most commonly used EAS System currently on the market, the detection rate of AM anti-theft systems is the highest, generally exceeding 95%.The detection rate of RF systems is between 75-95%. The detection rate of EM system is generally between 50% - 70%.
A system with a low detection rate is more likely to have a false negative rate when the product is taken out, so the detection rate is one of the main performance indicators for evaluating the quality of the anti-theft system. Of course, the detection rate is based on a good system quality. The detection rate of different commodity anti-theft system manufacturers will be very different, and the installation distance will also affect the detection rate.
The detection distance of EAS antenna
The detection distance refers to the farthest distance that the tag can be detected when passing through the antenna.
Of course, the larger the detection distance, the better the system, because if it is an exit with a large width, then in the case of using an antenna with a larger detection distance EAS antenna, it means that the fewer antennas you need to install. But the detection distance is not a decisive factor in determining the quality of the antenna, because according to the difference of individual circumstances, if your exit is relatively small, then the antenna with a smaller detection distance may be more suitable for you.
RF system has a shorter distance than AM system, its detection distance is general below 3 meters, around 2 meters is the perfect distance.
The EM system has the shortest detection distance, which is generally less than 2 meters.
EAS device detection sensitivity
The general definition of sensitivity refers to the degree of change in the response of a method to the unit concentration or unit amount of the substance to be measured. It can be used as the ratio of the response or other indicator of the instrument to the concentration or amount of the corresponding substance description.
The sensitivity of the EAS antenna refers to the sensitivity of the EAS antenna to the detection of security tags.Of course, there is no special standard for sensitivity to define the quality, because if the sensitivity is very good, it may cause unnecessary alarms. If the sensitivity is not good, the alarm may be missed, it can only be said that suitable is the best.
The alarm false of antitheft device
System false alarms refer to alarms triggered by non-anti-theft tags. If there is a non-label item to trigger the alarm, it will bring difficulties to the staff's judgment and processing, and even cause conflicts between customers and the mall. Due to the limitation of principle, the current common EAS systems cannot completely eliminate false alarms, but there will be differences in performance. The key to choosing the EAS system is to look at the false alarm rate.
EAS antenna Anti-interference performance
When the anti theft equipment is disturbed (mainly the interference between the power supply and the surrounding noise), the EAS system will send out an alarm signal when no one passes by or any triggering alarm objects pass. This phenomenon is called false alarm or self-sound.The RF system is susceptible to environmental interference and often has a self-sounding phenomenon, so some systems are equipped with an infrared device, which is equivalent to installing an electric switch. Only when a person passes the system and blocks the infrared, the system starts to work, and when no one passes by , the system is in standby. Although this solves the self-sounding when no one passes by, it still cannot solve the self-sounding when someone passes by.
The EM system is also susceptible to environmental interference, especially the interference of magnetic media and power supply, which affects the performance of the system.
AM system adopts unique resonance away and cooperates with intelligent technology. The system is controlled by computer and driven by software. It can automatically detect the surrounding environmental noise, so it can adapt well to the environment and have better anti-environmental interference ability.
Service life of EAS system
Generally, it is the circuit board that determines the service life of the EAS system.Regarding the shell, it is just that the acrylic material is relatively fragile and may be broken. Other materials like ABS and aluminum alloy are generally not easy to be broken.
There are too many models and quality EAS systems on the market, but also different quality, every performance index is a price factor.According to your budget and on-site situation, choosing what you need is the best.
